Laura Gasparrini
Since 2004, I’ve made it my life’s work to share my love for art and creativity. As the founder, principal designer, and incurable inventor at Om Tara®, I have come to believe deeply in the power of creativity to heal. It is the key to unlocking our soul’s voice – the healing balm that soothes us and strengthens us in a hectic world.
I’ve been teaching the Art of Beadwork for over 15 years, and making jewelry for as long as I can remember. From selling hand-made jewelry at my first lemonade stand to continuing a cottage business through high school, I have always been committed to this craft.
As the daughter of an engineer my mind loves to break down complex processes into easy-to-follow steps. Thanks, Dad! As the daughter of an avid crafter, I, too, have a passion for creative expression and teaching others. Thanks, Mom!
People say my work makes them feel empowered, confident, and beautiful. Perhaps their feelings are a reflection of the complete joy I feel when I am creating. Whether designing a piece, inventing a new patented tool, teaching a class or workshop, developing a tutorial, or coaching a Jewelry Artist, my intention is that we each recognize and celebrate our unique beauty and purpose. By supporting others to experience their own creativity, I hope to help people hear their inner voice and connect with their inherent wisdom.
I believe that people who craft are healthier, happier, and more able to give of themselves to others. Creativity feeds happiness and happiness fosters peace, confidence, connection, and clarity. My work through Om Tara® continues to expand as I explore and discover my own creative expression. It is infused with the compassion, hope, and expansive love a mother feels for her child – a reflection of the beautiful seed of possibility expressed through each of us.
My work, tools, articles, and tutorials have been featured in Step-by-Step Wire Magazine, Bead Style Magazine, Jewelry Stringing Magazine, Belle Armoire Jewelry, Rio Grande, Fire Mountain Gems, Jewelry Television, About.com/beading and Handmade Goodness Quarterly.
