Closed-Case IP65 Protection
One of the most important features of DeployNet™ is that the protective case does not need to be opened during normal operation.
The illuminated system power switch is mounted externally, allowing DeployNet™ to be turned on and off while the case remains completely closed and latched.
This keeps the internal:
- Starlink Mini
- Batteries
- Electrical connections
- Wiring
- Power electronics
protected from dust, rain, and the surrounding environment.
The Apache 3800 protective case is IP65 rated when properly closed and latched, providing protection against dust ingress and water jets.
This makes DeployNet™ particularly well suited for emergency response, search and rescue, construction sites, outdoor events, remote operations, and other environments where exposed electronics and conventional Starlink installations may be vulnerable to weather.
Real-World Runtime Estimates
Battery runtime is often overstated in marketing. We prefer to provide real-world operating expectations you can use when planning a deployment.
Our estimated runtimes take into consideration:
- Actual device power draw rather than idle or best-case numbers

- System losses from voltage conversion, wiring, and electronics
- Normal variations in Starlink Mini power consumption
Actual runtime will vary based on:
- Starlink Mini network activity
- Ambient temperature
- Battery condition
- Auxiliary equipment being powered
- Charging conditions
- Other environmental and operating factors

Desert Tan provides a subdued appearance while also absorbing less solar energy than the Midnight Black case during direct daytime sun exposure.
Rescue Orange
A highly visible finish designed for applications where quickly identifying critical communications equipment is important.
Rescue Orange is particularly well suited for:
- Search and rescue
- Fire and emergency response
- Disaster response
- Public safety
- Mutual-aid deployments
- Emergency communications

The bright orange case can also make DeployNet™ easier to locate among other equipment or in outdoor environments.
Midnight Black
A clean, discreet, professional appearance suitable for commercial, public safety, mobile communications, remote operations, and other applications where a traditional black equipment case is preferred.
⚠ Important Heat Warning — Midnight Black
Midnight Black absorbs more solar energy than the lighter Desert Tan and Rescue Orange cases. When exposed to direct sunlight, particularly during hot daytime conditions, the exterior and interior of the Midnight Black case may become significantly hotter.
Because DeployNet™ is designed for closed-case operation, heat generated by the Starlink Mini, batteries, and power electronics is combined with heat absorbed from the sun. Under high ambient temperatures and prolonged direct sunlight, this can potentially result in excessive internal temperatures.
Use additional caution when operating a Midnight Black DeployNet™ in direct sunlight or high-temperature daytime environments.
- Position the DeployNet™ in shade while maintaining an unobstructed view of the sky for the Starlink Mini whenever practical.
- Avoid placing the case on hot pavement, vehicle roofs, metal surfaces, or other heat-absorbing surfaces.
- Do not leave the unit unnecessarily exposed to prolonged direct sunlight during extreme heat.
- Periodically check the case and system during extended hot-weather operation.
- If the case or system becomes excessively hot, relocate it to a cooler or shaded location.
- For applications involving frequent prolonged operation in direct daytime sunlight, Desert Tan or Rescue Orange may be preferable to Midnight Black.
All DeployNet™ case colors can become hot when exposed to direct sunlight. Midnight Black, however, has the greatest potential for solar heat absorption and should be deployed accordingly.
